Tombs to Explore in West Bengal

Dutch Cemetery , Chinsura

Constructed on the order of the director of the Dutch East India Company . The cemetery and all its graves are now maintained and Archaeological Survey of India under the protection of ancient monuments and archaeological sites and remains of national importance.

South Park Street Cemetery

One of the earliest cemeteries not connected to a church. Opened in 1767 and used actively until the 1830s, the eight-acre necropolis is enclosed by a high brick wall that protects the eclectic mix of tombs, cenotaphs, and mausoleums. It is now a heritage site, protected by the Archaeological Survey of India.
