4 Bird Sanctuaries to Explore in West Bengal

Also known as Kayal-r Bagan famous for availability of a wide variety of birds, butterflies, ferns, and orchids which is located very close to the metropolis Kolkata. the place is very calm and quiet and nowadays a lot of people come here to wander and explore this place.

It is basically low water land, swamp or lake, where water may be available all over the year. This lake attracts a lot of birds which make nests in the trees around the lake. This is a must-see place for tourists who loved to watch the local birds and migratory birds.

The area is mainly mangrove scrub, forest and swamp. It was set up as a sanctuary in 1976. It is home to a rich population of different species of wildlife, such as water fowl, heron, pelican, spotted deer, rhesus macaques, wild boar, tigers, water monitor lizards, fishing cats, otters, Olive ridley turtle, crocodiles, Batagur terrapins, and migratory birds.

This is a beautiful lake located in the heart of Howrah and is home for several migratory birds. This lake attracts a lot of tourists as well as bird watchers. This calm ans quiet place is a beautiful picnic spot to spend with the family.
