9 Lake/ River/ Ponds to Explore in Madhya Pradesh

The Ken River is one of the major rivers of the Bundelkhand region of central India and also a tributary of Yamuna and it flows through two states namely Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. There are several places of interest around this river. Amongst all, the most frequented spots are Raneh Falls and Ken Ghariyal Sanctuary. Gangau Dam etc.

Lakha Banjara Lake is a serene water body transforming into a place of hustle-bustle in the evening. Tincha falls is the most popular falls in this region surrounded by lush green forests and it falls from a height of 300 feet. It is a very good place for trekking and is a good destination for a one day tour.

Upper lake is now famous as Bhojtal. It is a huge lake which is built artificially for the water source for the residents of the city. It was built around the year 1005 by king Paramara Raja Bhoj. This upper lake and the nearby lower lake comprises and forms the Bhoj wetland. Not only tourists, there are also so many migratory birds and other living beings come here and quench their thirst.
