Lough Allen is the uppermost of the three main lakes on the River Shannon. The lake, some 8 miles long and 3 miles broad at its widest (north) end, is surrounded by mountains. Lough Allen draws fishermen from around the world as it is famous for trout and pike, as well as water-sports and its beautiful natural surroundings.

Lough Allen is a lake on the River Shannon in northeastern Connacht, Ireland. Most of the lake is in County Leitrim, with a smaller part in County Roscommon. It is fed mainly by springs but also by a number of streams entering on the lake's western and southern sides. The lake drains north into the Unshin River.

The lake drains northwards into the Owencarrow River. The Owencarrow connects the lake with its similar northern neighbour, Glen Lough.

Lough Bo is a spring fed lake located in the hills around three miles north of Lough Arrow. It is stocked annually with brown trout which average 1lb.The lake is popular for trout fishing and get's stocked by the fisheries board. But the lake wouldn't appeal to much to the water sporter as it is moon shaped and surrounded by fields. There are some picnic tables at the lake shore and a very small carpark.

Lough Boderg is a lake on the River Shannon in County Roscommon and County Leitrim, Ireland. It is a large lough with a surface area of about 1,200 hectares which is on the River Shannon, between Kilmore, County Roscommon and Annaduff in County Leitrim.

Lough Bofin is a freshwater lake in the west of Ireland. It is located in the Connemara area of County Galway. The lake is part of the Connemara Bog Complex Special Area of Conservation.

Lough Bunny is a freshwater lake in The Burren, County Clare, Ireland. Lough Bunny has an elevation of 16 metres. Lough Bunny is situated northeast of Aughrim, northwest of Lough Attyslany. The lake lies within the jurisdiction of Clare County Council, and is within the Mid-West Region of Ireland

Caragh Lake is located between the lively town of Killorglin and the village of Glenbeigh, north of the McGillicuddy Reeks. The lake was formed by the damming of the Caragh River. It is one of the many freshwater lakes in Kerry that is included within a large Special Area of Conservation. It is one of the iconic location where you can spend some beautiful time in the middle of nature.

Lough Carra is the largest marl lake, covering 1,560 hectares in Ireland and is part of the Great Western Lakes complex. It was part of the estate of the well-known Moore family of Moore Hall. It is a well-known brown trout lough, and is situated northeast of Lough Mask.

Lough Conn is a lake in County Mayo, Ireland. With an area of about 48 square kilometres, it is Ireland's seventh largest lake. With its immediate neighbour to the south, Lough Cullin, it is connected to the Atlantic Ocean by the River Moy. The lake is connected to Lough Cullin by a channel that passes under the R310 regional road at Pontoon. The River Deel flows into Lough Conn and exits Lough Cullin at its southern end near Foxford.
