Bogamati lies entirely in the newly created Baksa district in Assam. Covered with dense forest, this has become a famous picnic spot for locals and travelers alike. Bogamati is beautiful and is located on the mouth of Barnadi River. The scenic view of the Bhutan Hills is what attracts people to this place.

It is place as if it is set in a canvas perfectly painted with all the colours of nature. Bhairabkunda is located in Udalguri district in Assam at an elevation of 703 metres, and is close to the Bhutanese town Daifam. It is on the border of Arunachal Pradesh and Bhutan and a must-visit for all.

Chandubi lake is a natural lake located in Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council, Kamrup District, Assam at a distance of 64 kilometers from the city of Guwahati. The lake is located at the foot of Garo hills surrounded by Assam and Meghalaya. The area is covered by deep forest, and small villages. It is a natural sightseeing and picnic spot.

It is a permanent freshwater lake, in a former channel of the Brahmaputra River, to the south of the main river. It is also called a wetland under the Ramsar Convention which has listed the lake in November 2002, as a Ramsar Site for undertaking conservation measures on the basis of its biological and environmental importance. Considered as one of the largest beels in the Brahmaputra valley of Lower Assam.

Joysagar is a man-made lake that has historical significance. It was made by Swargadeo Rudra Singha, an Ahom king in the memory of his mother in the year 1697. Covering an area of 318, this is one of the largest man-made lakes in India. It is also the largest one constructed by the Ahom kings in Assam. Joysagar becomes home to hundreds of migratory birds during winters and bird watching is an important activity during this time.

Majuli is a lush green environment-friendly, pristine and pollution free fresh water island in the river Brahmaputra, just 20 km from the Jorhat city. Majuli is the world's largest river island and it attracts tourists from all over the world. Among one of the most surreal places in India, Majuli is also a strong contender for a place in UNESCO's World Heritage Sites.

Nagsankar Mandir is situated east of Tezpur , a place called Chatia, new Biswanath Chariali. The exact history of the temple is not definite. It was built around 4th century AD. According to one belief, the temple was built by a King called Nag Sankar from the Lohitya dynasty in the late 4th century. The temple has a large pond by it. The pond is home to large varieties of turtles and large fish. Some turtles are believed to be hundreds of years old.

The beautiful and mesmerizing lake, Son Beel also called as Shon Bill is one of the largest lakes of Southern Assam’s Karimganj district. The most amazing thing about Son Beel is that it becomes a farm land for rice cultivation during winter till March and then the land fills with water and becomes a lake. The less depth of the lake makes it overflow during rainy season and the water meets Kushira River through Kakra River and flows to Bangladesh.
