Presqu'île de la Caravelle is a peninsula in Martinique located on the Atlantic coast , in Tartane . 12 km long , its highest point is the Morne Pavillon, with a height of 189 m. This place was Characterized by sugar cane fields , it conceals at its end the National Nature Reserve of the Caravelle peninsula , with an area of 400 hectares. Its hiking trails lead to the edge of a mangrove swamp at the foot of the ruins of Château Dubuc , a former “home” of slave settlers.
