Torra di a Parata

The Torra di a Parata is a ruined Genoese tower located in the commune of Ajaccio which was built in 1550-1551 by Giacomo Lombardo. It was one of a series of coastal defenses constructed by the Republic of Genoa between 1530 and 1620 to stem the attacks by Barbary pirates.
