Kek Lok Si Temple - Reviews From Travellers
What travellers say about Kek Lok Si Temple
Standing on a hilltop at Air Itam, near Penang Hill, Kek Lok Si is the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia. The complex is divided into three zones while the temple grounds comprise the hill entrance, souvenir, food and drinks stalls and the turtle liberation pond. The mid section of the temple houses temples, gardens, the pagoda and the four heavenly kings pavilion; meanwhile the hilltop plays host to an enormous statue of the Goddess of Mercy, Kuan Yin as well as more gardens and temples. The temple complex is vast and takes time to discover every nook and cranny. The Turtle liberation pond is fascinating and for a few cents you can feed them spinach. You'll find yourself spending ages watching them.

1000-L, Tingkat Lembah Ria 1, 11500 Ayer Itam, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia
An important pilgrimage center for Buddhists from Southeast Asia. The main attraction in the complex is the striking seven-story Pagoda which combines a Chinese octagonal base with a middle tier of Thai design, and a Burmese crown.
