Les Portes du Soleil is a Franco-Swiss ski area comprising 12 ski resorts on the slopes of the Chablais massif. According to the domain's website, it is considered one of the largest ski areas in the world with more than 650 km of downhill and cross-country skiing trails claimed, but without being fully connected, and has 196 ski lifts. The ski area is spread over the Abondance valley, the Aulps valley, the Illiez valley, and the Morgins valley.
