The Livigno Pass is a mountain pass in the Alps on the border between the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland and the Province of Sondrio in Italy. It’s one of the highest paved roads in Europe and it connects the Bernina Pass in Switzerland with Livigno in Italy. Alp Grüm railway station is a railway station in the municipality of Poschiavo, in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. It is located on the south side of Bernina Pass, on the Bernina line of the Rhaetian Railway. It serves the hamlet of Alp Grüm, which, except in summer, is accessible only from the railway. From the station, thanks mainly to the 180° curve immediately to the south, there are far-reaching views of the Palü Glacier, Lago Palu and the Puschlav.

A beautiful high mountain pass which was located in the heart of Grisons. It connects the famous resort town of St. Moritz in the Engadin valley with the Italian-speaking Val Poschiavo, which ends in the Italian town of Tirano in Valtellina. The pass lies a few kilometers east of Piz Bernina, and south of Val Minor. The pass was an important trade route over the Alps during the Middle Ages. Lago Bianco or White Lake is a glacial lake situated at an elevation of 2,637 meters (8,650 feet), making it one of the highest-altitude lakes in the Alps. Lago Bianco is fed by several small glaciers, and its waters are a brilliant turquoise color due to the high concentration of minerals in the glacier melt.

Piz Lagalb is a standalone mountain, which rises to the north-east of Bernina Pass. Its singular location just across the pass from the Bernina Group makes it a perfect lookout towards the glaciated giants like Piz Palü, Piz Bernina or Piz Morterasch. There is also a cable car facility here. In winter it serves as a ski area.

Val Poschiavo is a valley in the southern, Italian-speaking part of the Swiss canton of Graubünden. The main town is Poschiavo. The authentic natural and cultural landscape of the Puschlav which is 25 kilometers long as the crow flies extends from the giant ice peaks of the Bernina Mountain Range all the way down to the vineyards of the Veltlin. Woven into it are a great many sites of natural beauty, pretty towns with interesting cultural monuments, churches and palaces.
