Bolærne is an archipelago in the outer part of Oslofjord, in the municipality Nøtterøy in Vestfold, Norway. The islands have a total land area of 2.6 km². The largest island, Mellom Bolæren, covers 1.1 km². The easternmost island is Østre Bolæren. The islands have been inhabited by fishermen from the 16th century. There was a coastal fortress from 1916 to 2002. The archipelago is included in the Færder National Park, which was established in 2013.

Ytre Hvaler National Park is a national park located in Viken, Norway. The park is dominated by the coastal culture which has used the area for centuries, resulting in it including boathouses for fishing.

The museum was named after Borgarsysla, the Old Norse name of Østfold county. Borgarsyssel Museum holds an extensive collection of artifacts and old objects from different periods of time. In addition, there are about 20 old buildings showing Østfold's history from medieval to the present time.

Fredriksvern shipyard in Stavern is one of the best-preserved military installations from the Baroque period in Denmark-Norway. The area is protected. This was the first military facility in Stavern. Oscarsborg Fortress is a coastal fortress in the Oslofjord. The fortress is best known for sinking the German heavy cruiser "Blücher" on 9 April 1940.

Telemark Museum is a consolidated museum that included a number of museums within the Telemark area. It was founded in 1909 from a base at the Søndre Brekke farm. The farm is surrounded by Brekkeparken, a 36-acre park. The main attraction, aside from seasonal exhibits in the main halls of the farmhouse, is the outdoor museum. Several older houses and farms from the former county of Telemark have been moved from their original location and rebuilt on-site in the park.

The Telemark Canal was hewn out of the rocks by hand well over 100 years ago, and when completed in 1892. Europeans described it as the "eighth wonder of the world". 500 men had worked for five years to dynamite their way through the rocks. The Canal consists of eight locks with a total of 18 lock chambers, and a difference in height of 72 metres.
