Jotunheimen National Park is a national park in Norway, recognized as one of the country's premier hiking and fishing regions. The national park covers 1,151 square kilometres and is part of the larger area Jotunheimen. More than 250 peaks rise above an elevation of 1,900 metres, including Northern Europe's two highest peaks: Galdhøpiggen at 2,469 metres, and Glittertind at 2,465 metres.

Galdhøpiggen is the tallest mountain in Norway, Scandinavia, and Northern Europe, at 2,469 m above sea level. It is in the municipality of Lom in Innlandet county and in the Jotunheimen mountain area. During the ice ages, it was heavily glaciated and got its present form. The theory that the highest summits in Norway stayed above the ice as nunataks have been abandoned by most geologists.

Surtningssue is the seventh-highest mountain in Norway. It lies in Jotunheimen, on the border between the municipalities Lom and Vågå. Surtningssue has several distinct peaks, of which Store Surtningssue is the highest. Surtningssue is most easily reached from the cabin Memurubu, along the northern shore of Gjendin.

Norway's second-highest mountain Glittertind, which lies 2452 meters above sea level, is a majestic peak with a great view over large parts of Jotunheimen. This summit is coved of a magnificent snow and ice cap, and has its name from the river Glitra, which flows from Glitterholet in Visdalen.
