About Yangon Zoo
The Yangon Zoo is the oldest and the second largest zoo in Myanmar. The zoo has 145 species of land animals,including 8 endangered species.
Attractions Near Yangon Zoo
Kandawgyi Lake or also called as Royal Lake is one of the most beautiful attractions of Yangon. The lake was built to provide a clean water supply for the British colonial government at the time.
Shwe Kyin is a monastery in eastern Yangon. The monastery is popular for its old meditation caves, some of which date back to old times.
Karaweik or Karaweik Hall is a palace on the eastern shore of Kandawgyi Lake, Yangon, Burma.
The most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar, as it is believed to contain relics of the four previous Buddhas of the present era. These relics include the staff of Kakusandha, the water filter of Koṇāgamana, a piece of the robe of Kassapa, and eight strands of hair from the head of Gautama.
The Bogyoke Aung San Museum is a museum dedicated to General Aung San, the founder of modern Myanmar. The Museum exhibits things that are used by Bogyoke Aung San such as furniture, dresses, books, car, and his family photos.
The mausoleum is dedicated to Aung San and other leaders, who were assassinated on 19 July 1947.
