Nakhon Si Thammarat Province in Southern Thailand, Khao Luang National Park is a mountainous national park covering 570 km². The park is popular for its numerous waterfalls spread out all over the park. The habitats include mountains, limestone cliffs, granite massifs, rainforests, and the number of rivers.

Thale Noi, also spelled Talay Noi is an internationally recognized and protected wetland in Phatthalung province covering more than 400km² and home to thousands of bird species. Phatthalung province receives comparatively far fewer foreign tourists than other Southern destinations such as Phuket, and Krabi.

Mu Ko Thale Tai National Park is covered with lush primary forest which is the originating point for many creeks, used as a watershed by the locals for agricultural activities. Some of the areas are mountains of limestone and healthy mangrove forests.

The name of the national park was named after the name of the famous mountain within the area. Especially, the name "KhaoPu" where local people believe the spirit of "Ta Pu", half man half god, is situated. The place is then crowded with people coming by to pay homage to the sacred mountain. This national park is situated in the area of Bantad Mountain.

From Wat Khuha Sawan, follow Highway 4047 and Khao Ok Thalu or Mount Ok Thalu will be seen standing majestically to the east of the railway station. It is a symbolic figure of Phatthalung, having a height of around 250m. There is a flight of stairs leading the way up to the mountaintop overlooking the city of Phatthalung. The distinctive feature is a hole near the top, where visitors can see through it.
