Mandu (City of Joy) is a small city in the state of Madhya Pradesh in India, now best known for a fort built by Baaz Bahadur in the memory of his queen Rani Roopmati. Between 1401 and 1561 it was the capital of a Muslim state in the north of India. The capital was abandoned more than 400 years ago, and it's now a small city but also home to a large ruins site more than 10 km long and 15 km wide. The temple dedicated to Shiva also attracts many pilgrims.

Hindola-Mahal literally means a "Swinging palace". it is marked distinctly from other palaces at Mandu by the extreme simplicity of its style of construction although having a definite aesthetic appeal. constructed during the reign of Hushang Shah about 1425 C.E.

Ahilya Fort, in the central Indian town of Maheshwar, sits high above the sacred river Narmada. Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar ruled here from 1765 to 1796 and built Ahilya Wada, her personal residences, offices, and darbaar audience hall, within the fort. Adinatha temple is a Jain temple dedicated to the Jain tirthankara Adinatha, located at Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh. This temple is part of UNESCO World Heritage Site along with other temples in Khajuraho Group of Monuments.
