The North Oconee River Greenway is a scenic nature trail that runs along the banks of the Oconee River. The Ware–Lyndon House is a historic house located at 293 Hoyt Street in Athens, Georgia, at the end of Jackson Street. Built circa 1850, the house is two stories and exhibits an Italianate style. In 1976, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is the only surviving structure from the Lickskillet neighborhood of Athens, one of the most fashionable districts of its time.

The Taylor-Grady House is an important historical landmark that was built in 1844 by Edward Taylor and his wife Louisa. The house features a Greek Revival design with paned windows, wide porches, 12-over-12 sash windows, and formidable 13-foot columns. The interior contains a number of fascinating artifacts from the early 19th century, including original furnishings, an impressive fireplace mantle with ivory inlays and artwork.

Bishop Park, features over 200 acres of fresh green space and includes a .5 mile walking path, a large playground, volleyball courts, and beautiful gardens. The park also has an amphitheater where local artists put on concerts year-round. Every month the park hosts events like movies in the park with family-friendly showings throughout summer days. During the holiday season, visitors can stroll through the festive lights and decorations placed all around the grounds.
