The Pueblo City-County Library District has a long and rich history. The Library first opened its doors in 1895, making it one of the oldest libraries in Colorado. Originally housed in a small room in the Pueblo County Courthouse, the Library quickly outgrew its space and relocated to a larger building in downtown Pueblo. The best way to reach the Library District is by car. From Denver, take I-25 south to exit 97. Then, take US-50 west for about 60 miles. From Colorado Springs, take I-25 north to exit 101A. Then, take US-50 west for about 45 miles. Once you reach Pueblo, the Library District will be on your left. 

There is no entrance fee to explore the library's collections or take advantage of its many programs. This policy ensures that everyone, regardless of income, can enjoy all that the library has to offer.

The hours of operation for the Pueblo City-County Library District are Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The library is closed on all major holidays.
