The San Francisco Bay Trail is a bicycle and pedestrian trail that when finished will allow continuous travel around the shoreline of San Francisco Bay.It offers spectacular wildlife viewing and improves public awareness and respect for the bay.

Bair Island is a swampland spread over 3,000 acres in Redwood City. It is part of the larger Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. The water temple was originally built in 1934 (and revamped in 1938) as part of a massive project to bring water to San Francisco by damming up the Hetch Hetchy valley, 160 miles away in the Sierras.
