BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Anand - 4 Things to Know Before Visiting

This is the house of one of the popular Indian Politicians and the deputy prime minister of India Sardar Vallabhai Patel. He was one of the founding fathers of the Republic of India.

There are three main shrines in the temple the central shrine of this temple is that of Lakshmi Narayan and RanchodRai. On the right there is an image of Radha Krishna with Swaminarayan in the form of Hari Krishna and the left has Vasudev, Dharma and Bhakti. The wooden pillars of the temple bear colorful wood carvings. There is a Dharamsala within the temple premises. Gnyanbaug is a garden to the northwest of the temple gate that has four memorials dedicated to Swaminarayan.

Though not very rich in carving, the main cupola derives its influence from the Maharashtrian style of temple architecture.
