About Yuma Desert
The Yuma Desert is a lower-elevation section of the Sonoran Desert in the southwestern United States and the northwest of Mexico. It lies south of the Gila River and east of the Colorado River in the extreme southwestern corner of Arizona. It is a region of low sandy plains and dunes. The area is nearly barren, with only sporadic outcroppings of creosote bush or burr sage.
