Kralingen Lake

There are five water sports associations, such as the Rotterdamsche Zeilvereeniging RZV, Koninklijke Roei- en Zeilvereniging De Maas , Boudewina and the Kralingsche Zeil Club . The first association that organized water sports in the lake was Zeilvereeniging Kralingen in 1908, later merged into the Water Sports Association Rotterdam .

The city hall on Coolsingel in Rotterdam was built between 1914 and 1920 to a design by Henri Evers. It is one of the few buildings in the center of Rotterdam that survived the bombing of 14 May 1940. It has a floor area of 86 by 106 meters and is built around a large courtyard with two passages on both sides to the Stadhuisstraat and the Doelwater. The bell tower is 71 meters high and stands above the main hall. Atop the tower is the statue of a golden angel of peace by sculptor Johan Keller.
