About Oisterwijkse Bossen en Vennen
The Oisterwijkse Bossen and Vennen form a nature reserve in the municipality of Oisterwijk of over 750 hectares in the National Landscape Het Groene Woud . More than 400 ha of this is owned by the Vereniging Natuurmonumenten. The area was once a vast heathland with many fens, but from 1801 the area was forested. Younger plantings date from about 1840 .
