About Stadspark
The Stadspark in Groningen is an approximately 140 hectare park on the southwest side of the city in the Stadsparkwijk. It is a municipal monument. The City Park is laid out in a low-lying, swampy peat area that is covered with a layer of clay and sand from the excavated pond at the walking areas. It is made up of a number of parts. An Arboretum is located at the entrance, on the Paterswoldseweg. West of the trotting track, on the edge of the pond, is the pavilion from 1926.
