A majestic memorial that commemorates the crew of the British Avro Lancaster LM325 SR-J that crashed on the spot during the night of 22 to 23 June 1943 in World War II. The bomber belonged to the No. 101 Squadron of the RAF. Six of the seven crew lost their lives.

The Crossing , also called City Bridge, is a bridge for car traffic over the Waal, in Nijmegen. The road over the bridge has been named General James Gavinsingel since 2016. The river crossing was opened in November 2013 and is located west of the two existing Nijmegen bridges. On the south side, the bridge connects to the Verlengde Energieweg, on the north side to the Graaf Alardsingel.

The Streekpad Nijmegen is a regional path with a length of 117 kilometers around Nijmegen . The trail is marked with yellow-red signs in both directions and described in a guidebook. The path is managed by Wandelnet. The route has connections to public transport with stations in Nijmegen , Wijchen and Ravenstein . The other places can be reached by bus. Camping options are reasonably widely available along and a short distance from the route.

The Spiegelwaal is a secondary channel of approximately 4 kilometers in the Waal near Nijmegen. The channel was constructed between 2013 and 2015 as part of the Room for the Waal project. The Spiegelwaal is not a through route for shipping. The water is therefore particularly suitable for water sports such as canoeing, rowing, windsurfing and sailing. A rescue brigade is also active for water sports enthusiasts and recreational swimming.

Hernen Castle, locally known as Kasteel Hernen, lies in the village with the same name, in the Gelderland province in the Netherlands. It probably originated around 1350, and then consisted of only one residential tower (keep). Later it was repeatedly expanded, with the former courtyard increasingly being filled. The residential tower collapsed in the 18th century.
