The Central Cemetery, which opened in 1874, is much more than just a last resting place. Around two square kilometers in area, it is the second largest cemetery in Europe.Waiting to be discovered here are graves of honor from Beethoven to Falco, fantastic Art Nouveau architecture as well as abundant lush greenery that makes the cemetery a popular local recreation area.

The Vienna gasometers were built between 1896 and 1899 at a time when societies were reluctant to exhibit freely their industrial infrastructures.They were used from 1899 to 1984 to house gas holders, also known as gasometers, each of 90,000 m³ storage capacity. After the changeover from town gas to natural gas between 1969 and 1978, they were no longer used and were shut down. The structures have found new residential and commercial use in modern times.

The Donaukanal is actually a decent-sized river channel that breaks off from the mighty Danube at the northwest entrance to Vienna, curves around the edge of the old town, and then continues out to the far east of the city where it rejoins the main river. The paths on both sides of the Donaukanal are regularly used by joggers, cyclists and skaters. Recently, there have been successful attempts during the summer months at turning the place into a more attractive recreational area.

The Alte Donau is an arm of the Danube in Vienna . It lies orographically to the left of the New Danube , which accompanies the main Danube stream, but has no direct connection either with this or with the Danube itself. The Upper Old Danube stretches from the Floridsdorf Bridge to the Kagran Bridge , and the Lower Old Danube from the Kagran Bridge to the Donaustadt Bridge . A small part next to the Floridsdorf Bridge is designed as a Floridsdorf water park .

The Vienna International Centre is the campus and building complex hosting the United Nations Office at Vienna. It is colloquially also known as UNO City. Six Y-shaped office towers surround a cylindrical conference building for a total floor area of 230,000 square metres. The highest tower stands 127 metres tall, enclosing 28 floors. These office towers were among the first modern skyscrapers to be built in Austria.

The Hundertwasser House in Vienna is one of Austria’s architectural highlights. The house designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser draws visitors from around the world. The Hundertwasser Village is open everyday from 9:00 till 18:00 o'clock. The Hundertwasser Museum in the Kunst Haus Wien may be visited daily from 10:00 till 18:00 o'clock.
