The Leitha Mountains are a range of hills in Austria lying on the boundary between Lower Austria and Burgenland. The range is an offshoot of the Alps and forms a connection to the Carpathians to the north. The ridge is heavily forested with deciduous trees such as oak, hornbeam, and beech predominating. It is a good trekking destination and also it offers beautiful views too.

It is about twenty meters above the street. It is a layered joint cavity . It was probably formed in the Pannonian as a surf cave of the Miocene Sea in limestone.

The rock is a prehistoric sea reef and dates from the time when the area was still below sea level. From a geological point of view, the Hölzlstein is a Leithakalkklippe, which consists of tertiary sand-lime stone, which comes to the surface at its highest point in the form of a small, widely visible rock formation.
