Its pyramid-shaped summit makes it a good observation peak north of the Erl Saddle and the Solsteinhaus mountain hut. Erlspitze is a major viewpoint which offers a splendid panorama with a great view of the alpine main ridge, Wetterstein and Karwendel mountains.
