Schloss Frohnburg - 4 Things to Know Before Visiting

A beautiful christmas market held at Schloss Hellbrunn for almost 20 years. Accompanied by a colorful events program, families, above all, are drawn to this idyllic Advent setting located in the south of the City of Mozart. Beginning in mid-November, the inner courtyard of Schloss Hellbrunn is turned into the romantic backdrop for one of the most beautiful Advent markets in Salzburg.

An early Baroque villa of palatial size, near Morzg, a southern district of the city of Salzburg, Austria. It was built in 1613–19 by Markus Sittikus von Hohenems. Hellbrunn was only meant for use as a day residence in summer, as the Archbishop usually returned to Salzburg in the evening; therefore, there is no bedroom in Hellbrunn.

They are the world's best-preserved water features from the late Renaissance and Mannerist periods . They were commissioned by Prince Archbishop Markus Sittikus von Hohenems around 1613. Today, the magic that once emanated from the water dispenser can often not be understood to the same extent as it was when it was first created.

The Almkanal is an artificial works channel in the south of the city of Salzburg to the left of the Königsseeache and the Salzach. The Stiftsarm tunnel leading through the Mönchsberg is the oldest medieval water tunnel in Central Europe. It served to supply the city with utility , drinking and extinguishing water as well as the mill operation . Today the Almkanal is primarily important as a recreational area and a cultural monument, but it is also still used to generate energy.

A beautiful 13 hectare large standing body of water in the Riedenburg district next to the Leopoldskron Castle . Similar to the Geiselweiher at the foot of the Untersberg, which was abandoned in 1805, it was laid out before 1500 as a retention area for excess water from the Alm Canal . In the 18th century, Leopoldskron was included in the large palace gardens.

The Monatsschlössl is on the Hellbrunner mountain in the park of Hellbrunn Palace in the southern Austrian city of Salzburg situated hunting lodge of the 17th century. Today the rich folklore museum of the Salzburg Museum is set up in the monthly castle . The collection, founded in 1904, provides an insight into the Salzburg folk culture with exhibits of customs , popular piety, home decor and folk medicine.
