About Devarakonda Fort
Devarakonda which is as Mandal Headquarters, is a tiny village situated in Nalgonda district. The fort was constructed in the 13th – 14th century. The Devarakonda fort is the emblem of prosperity established by the kingdom of Padma Nayaka Veluma Rajas. The fort was the heart of one and slave of none, as it was ruled by Padma Nayaka Veluma Raja since the year 1278 to 1482 AD.

This is a Masonry dam across the Krishna river. Constructed between 1955 and 1967, the dam created a water reservoir with a gross storage capacity of 11.472 billion cubic meters. It is also one of the earliest multi-purpose irrigation and hydro-electric projects in India.
This is a mansionary dam across the Krishna river at Nagarjuna Sagar which straddles the border between Guntur district and Nalgonda district. Nagarjuna Sagar was the earliest in a series of large infrastructure projects termed as "modern temples" initiated for achieving the Green revolution inn India.
The Rachakonda Fort was constructed in 14th century by Recherla Singama Nayak from Padma Nayaka dynasty who ruled the region of Rachakonda. The Fort was the capital to the Rachakonda region. The region was first ruled by Kakatiyas, Padma Nayakas, Bahmani Sultans, Qutub Shahi and finally Nizams. The Rachakonda fort is a good example of medieval Hindu fort architecture. It is a structure made of large stones. The fort built as a two story structure was constructed without using any mortar.
