Traprain Law is a distinct upstanding feature in East Lothian's landscape. The Museum of Flight is the Scottish National Aviation Museum, and part of National Museums Scotland. It occupies the hangars and a number of other buildings at East Fortune airfield. The museum is housed in the original wartime buildings of RAF East Fortune which is a well preserved World War II airfield. As a result of this the entire site is a scheduled ancient monument with no permanent structures added by the museum.
