Kellie Castle - 4 Things to Know Before Visiting

Newark Castle is a ruin located just outside the town of St Monans, on the east coast of Fife, Scotland. Building on the site probably dates back to the 13th century at which time the Scottish king Alexander III spent some of his childhood there. The castle has been known by several names, including Inverie, St Monans and St Monance. It has been designated by Historic Environment Scotland, together with its associated dovecote, as a scheduled monument.

Anstruther Harbour caters for leisure and small fishing vessels. There is approx. 400 metres of pierside berthing and 100 serviced pontoon berths for leisure craft. There are reefs along the coast to the East and West of the harbour entrance and approach should only be made along the approach bearing shown on the Admiralty chart from a safe distance out

Scotland’s Secret Bunker was built at the start of the Cold War in 1951 underneath an innocent-looking “farmhouse” near St. Andrews, Fife, as part of the British response to the Cold War. Now a tourist attraction, the Bunker gives a unique opportunity to understand what life would have been like during and after a nuclear attack.

Crail is the most easterly of the line of coastal settlements along the south side of the East Neuk of Fife. Many would also say it is also the most attractive of them, though each has its own unique character. Ten miles south east of St Andrews, Crail is a wonderful place to visit at any time of year, though it's probably at its best on a bright day in Winter when you stand more chance of having it to yourself.

Craigtoun Country Park is a country park located approximately 4 miles to the south-west of St Andrews in the county of Fife, Scotland. The site is currently owned by Fife Council, with park amenities being operated as of 2012 by the charitable organisation Friends of Craigtoun Park. The park comprises woodland, water and marshland habitats in addition to maintained areas of grassland, tree plantations and formal gardens.

A beautiful Victorian walled garden laid out around the Cambo burn to supply the house with fruit, flowers and vegetables. There is an ornamental potager, rare plants and a well-known snowdrop collection. The inspirational and innovatively-planted herbaceous displays frequently incorporate rarely-seen plants and are constantly evolving. There are also masses of spring bulbs, a lilac walk, rambler roses and spectacular late-season herbaceous borders.
