The Runaway Mine Train is a powered steel roller coaster made by MACK Rides of Germany. The ride is located in the Katanga Canyon area of Alton Towers in Staffordshire, England. The ride runs alongside the Congo River Rapids, with which it shares a tunnel section. Passengers on the two rides occasionally wave to each other if they pass in the shared tunnel.

Hex The Legend Of The Towers is a walkthrough dark ride experience. The ride's story is based on the local legend of the Chained Oak Tree and is set within the restored ruins of the Towers themselves. The ride opened in March 2000. This attraction was closed for the duration of the 2016 season, but underwent repairs in the winter before reopening in 2017.

Alton Castle is a Gothic-revival castle, on a hill above the Churnet Valley, in the village of Alton, Staffordshire, England. The site has been fortified since Saxon times, with the original castle dating from the 12th century. The current castle was constructed in the mid-19th century by John Talbot, 16th Earl of Shrewsbury, of nearby Alton Towers. Since 1967 the castle has been designated a Grade I listed building. It is also a scheduled ancient monument.

This majestic 12th-century abbey was home to 70 Cistercian monks at its peak. Although converted into a farm after its suppression in 1538, the remains are impressive, including towering fragments of its 13th-century church, infirmary, and 14th-century abbot's lodging. The church took over seven decades to build and was finished in 1254. It is one of the main pilgrimage centres and also a tourist attraction too.

The Churnet Valley Railway is a preserved standard gauge heritage railway to the east of Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, England, that operates along a part of the former North Staffordshire Railway's Churnet Valley Line. Regular services travel between the two main stations at Cheddleton and Kingsley and Froghall . There is an intermediate station at Consall. Some trains also head beyond Cheddleton to Leek Brook Junction and on to Ipstones, but Ipstones station is not in use.

The Manifold Way is a multi-user route along the Manifold Valley following the former Leek and Manifold Light Railway through the attractive Staffordshire Moorlands. This trail is an easy route being on a tarmacadam track and minor roads between Waterhouses and Hulme End. The route has been open since the 1930s when the railway closed, and is probably the earliest case of a disused railway line being converted to a walkers' and cyclists' route.

Ilam Park is a 158-acre country park situated in Ilam, on both banks of the River Manifold five miles (8 km) north west of Ashbourne, England. Thorpe Cloud is an isolated limestone hill lying between the villages of Thorpe and Ilam on the Derbyshire. Thorpe Cloud rises straight up from the River Dove at Dovedale and reaches a height of 942ft. Its distinctive conical shape viewed from Dovedale gives the hill a mountainous feel. This small hill can be climbed from the Dove Dale car park. It's a short climb on good footpaths with the reward of wonderful views over the beautiful Dovedale.
