Fledborough Viaduct is a former railway viaduct near Fledborough, Nottinghamshire which is now part of the national cycle network. Fledborough Viaduct is situated in Fledborough Holme, close to St George the Martyr's Church, North & South Clifton. Today the railway trackbed eastwards from the site of Fledborough station, across the viaduct, through Clifton to Doddington & Harby forms an off-road part of National Cycle Route 647 which is part of the National Cycle Network.

One of Britain’s oldest canals dating back to 120AD, the Fossdyke Navigation in Lincolnshire links the River Witham to the River Trent.It was built by the Romans to join Lindum Colonia to the River Trent. The canal has been used to transport cargo for almost 2000 years, including the stone used to build Lincoln Cathedral in the 11th century.

Hartsholme Country Park is a stunning open space to the south of the city covering more than 200 acres. The Workhouse is a National Trust place located in Southwell, Nottinghamshire, and the most complete workhouse in existence. This austere building, the most complete workhouse in existence, was built in 1824 as a place of last resort for the destitute. Its architecture was influenced by prison design and its harsh regime became a blueprint for workhouses throughout the country.

The trail is 7.5 miles and built on the former railway line of the Midland Railway. It stretches from Southwell to Bilsthorpe and passes the villages of Farnsfield, Kirklington and Maythorne. The Trail supports a wide range of habitats, because it crosses two distinct geological areas.

High Bridge is the oldest bridge in the United Kingdom which still has buildings on it, dating back to 1160AD. The first building to be built on the bridge, that is now part of Lincoln High Street, was a chapel, dedicated to Thomas Becket - a common occurance on Medieval English bridges. Bridges like this were common in the Middle Ages, the best known being London Bridge, but most have long since been demolished because of their obstruction to the river flow and to shipping.

Rufford Abbey consists of the partial remains of a 12th-century Cistercian abbey, incorporated into a 17th-century mansion.
