Market Bosworth Country Park in Leicestershire extends to 35 hectares and lies immediately to the east of the historic market town of Market Bosworth. The park features a lake, a planted arboretum with many different exotic species, a wildflower meadow, and community woodland. It was one of the iconic attractions in this area and also you can rejuvenate your mind and body.

Tropical Birdland in the north of the village of Desford, Leicestershire, England was set in 5 acres of natural woodland with walk-through aviaries, baby bird viewing room, over 70 species including toucans, emus, owls, macaws and parrots. The variety of walk through aviaries are home to lots of these beautiful birds, many of which love a scrummy mealworm so if you’ve got some going spare then draw the birds in a bit closer.

The Museum and Art Gallery is set in the beautiful Riversley Park and has three galleries which house regularly changing temporary and touring art exhibitions. There is a gallery dedicated to the writer George Eliot, together with two others focusing on local history and fine art. There is a small display of objects which belonged to the comedian Larry Grayson.

Riversley Park is an urban park in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, England, which covers an area of 13 acres and is located immediately to the south of the town centre, with the River Anker flowing through it. It has a series of tree-lined walks, a bandstand, tennis courts, blowing greens and pitches, with two bridges crossing the river.

Twycross Zoo is a medium to large zoo near Norton Juxta Twycross, Leicestershire. It was now renowned as a World Primate Centre and has a wide variety of monkeys and apes including the UK's only group of bonobos. It has around 500 animals of almost 150 species, including many endangered species. Renowned as a specialist primate zoo, it is the only zoo in the UK to exhibit all four types of great ape: gorilla, orangutan, chimpanzee and bonobo, the latter being the only bonobos in the country.

Stoney Cove is a large flooded quarry which is a popular inland scuba diving site, located between Stoney Stanton and Sapcote in Leicestershire, England. It is now home of the UK National Diving Centre, probably the body of water where more people qualify as scuba divers than any other place in the UK. The site is regularly used to train police divers and even US Air Force.

A beautiful 60ha country park created by Leicestershire County Council on a former opencast colliery site near Heather. It includes the River Sence and three major lakes, which attract a wide variety of wildfowl. Bardon Hill is a former volcano. It is the highest point in Leicestershire and the National Forest, 912 feet above sea level. Due to its prominence, it is visible for many kilometres around. It adjoins Bardon Hill Quarry, a geological SSSI. At its summit are a trigonometrical point and a radio mast. The second highest hill in Leicestershire is the nearby Beacon Hill.

This rare and beautiful house is a surviving example of a family home which was built in the 13th century and then modernised in the 17th Century, one of the oldest houses in Leicestershire. It was once owned by a relative of one of the Gunpowder plotters, and is now managed by Leicestershire County Council. All the rooms are fully furnished as they might have been at the time and the mixture of original and replica furniture and household objects can be touched and used - with one exception.

Arbury Hall, a country house which was built during the Post Medieval period. It is situated on the site of Arbury Priory, 700m south west of Dennis Farm. The hall is set in 300 acres of parkland. The 19th-century author George Eliot was born on one of the estate farms in 1819, the daughter of the estate's land agent. She immortalised Arbury Hall as "Cheverel Manor" in Scenes of Clerical Life, where it is the setting for "Mr Gilfil's Love Story".

This beautiful mansion was built for Lord Hastings, who was dramatically seized and executed by Richard III in 1483. Hastings’ descendants still believe they have a direct line to the throne of England. The castle was rectangular in design, 245 by 175 feet across, and would have comprised four corner towers, three side towers and a large gatehouse, all protected by a water-filled moat; the centre of the castle would have formed a courtyard.

This 20 hectare local nature reserve, located in the north of the borough of Hinckley and Bosworth, consists of a variety of habitats including acid grassland, which is ecologically significant at a local level. Braunstone Park is a large public park located in Braunstone. It covers an area of 168 acres, has two lakes, large open spaces, woodlands and meadows.
