Attractions to explore near Ayyana kere
Ayyanakere lake is an ancient lake located at the eastern base of the Baba Budhan hills. This is the biggest lake in Chikkamangluru district and second-largest in Karnataka.
One of the 20 important sanctuaries in India. The sanctuary is situated on an island that spans an area of 1.14 acres and it is surrounded by forest and river Tunga. Over 5,000 birds here during the peak season from July to September, boating can be taken for closer viewing of the nesting birds.
Situated on the banks of river Bhadra, surrounded by forest, this temple is dedicated to the goddess Annapoorneshwari. It is believed that the sage Agastya in 8th century established the icon of the goddess here.
