The Molentargius-Saline regional natural park is a protected natural area of Sardinia established with regional law n. 5 of February 26, 1999. It is one of the most important wetlands in Europe. The Molentargius pond is recognized in the official lists of wetlands to be protected: it is classified as a Site of Community Importance.
