The Cirque de Gavarnie is one of nature’s most unique and spectacular creations. Located in the department of Hautes-Pyrénées in the Pyrénées National Park, it forms France’s southern border with Spain. This cirque is described as a rocky cliff face or wall that forms a curved amphitheater. The cirque is 800 m wide and about 3,000 m wide at the top. The rock walls that surround it are up to 1,500 metres above the floor of the Cirque.

The Roland Breccia is a natural gap, 40 meters wide and approximately 70 meters deep , opening into the cliffs located around the circumference of the Cirque de Gavarnie , in the Hautes-Pyrénées . Located at an altitude of 2,807 meters, it plays the role of a mountain pass which marks the border between Spain and France over its entire width.

Gaube Lake is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty surrounded by Pyrenean peaks over 2,000 metres above sea level. Hiking to the Gaube lake is a lovely stroll along well-kept tracks with beautiful waterfalls everywhere. The shoreline and surrounding slopes are covered with various glacial rock formations.

Pont d'Espagne is a stone-built bridge that spans the Gave de Marcadau at the point where it meets the Gave de Gaube. It is a natural tourist site in the Pyrenees at an altitude of around 1,500 m in the town of Cauterets in the Hautes-Pyrénées department. It is a protected area of ​​the Pyrenees forming part of the Pyrenees National Park. There is also a cross-country ski area that is part of the Cauterets winter sports resort.

The Pyrenees National Park stretches for 100 km from east to west, from the Aure Valley to the Aspe Valley. Col du Tourmalet is one of the highest paved mountain passes in the French Pyrenees, in the department of Hautes-Pyrénées. Sainte-Marie-de-Campan is at the foot on the eastern side and the ski station La Mongie two-thirds of the way up. The village of Barèges lies on the western side, above the town of Luz-Saint-Sauveur.
