About the Activity
This workshop is special traditional Japanese culture learning experience for you at Japanese private home! The teacher in this workshop is great experienced professional tea master, who learned Japanese traditional tea ceremony for more than 40 years and teach it to students for more than 15 years. You can learn how to be a guest for Japanese tea ceremony at Japanese traditional Tatami room while you are eating Wagashi which tea master made. There are some kinds of Wagashi, for example Nerikiri, Gyuhi (mochi), Manjyu and so on. The tea master will choose what kind of Wagashi you will eat depends on the season. You can try mixing the Matcha (green tea) and drink it by your self. Tea master show you about the history of Japanese tea ceremony and also you can ask any questions about tea ceremony.1 hour 30 minutes

You can learn and have great experiences about Japanese tea ceremony in the special Tatami tea ceremony room at my private Japanese home.
First, tea master will demonstrate how to do Japanese tea ceremony.
Also you can see the “Charcoal procedure”. That is, we add charcoal to boil water. It’s really rare experience for you ,even for Japanese people.
During the procedure, tea master will make Matcha (green tea) for you. You can learn how to be a guest with eating my Wagashi which I made (tea master prepare Wagashi & dried Japanese sweets for you).
After you see the procedure, you can try to make Matcha by yourself. So you can drink 2 cups of Matcha.
Tea master shows the history of Japanese tea ceremony for you and you can ask any questions about tea ceremony.
It takes totally for about 1.5 hours for “Japanese tea ceremony” workshop.
Please bring socks to enter the Japanese Tatami room for tea ceremony.

Tour operator will pick up all customers from their respective locations; or, customers can make their own way to the start point- Travelers can choose a custom pickup or meeting location.
- I will pick you up by the red-color Toyota car at the front of Mizuho Bank, 1 min walk from the west exit of Azamino Station (Tokyo Denentoshi line & Yokohama Subway).
