Travel Itinerary

The walk starts at 10:00 at the Burngate Stone Carving Centre arriving back there at 12:30 after a 6.5km (4mile) loop to Dancing Ledge. Break for lunch 12:30-2:00 at the Burngate Centre. Participants bring lunch - teas and coffee provided. We leave the centre again at 2:00 for the 8km (5mile) hike, arriving in Corfe at 4:15 (to get 4:30 bus back to Burngate). Route is flat with a couple of minor inclines along paths/tracks with walking boots recommended. Waterproofs and or suntan cream/water depending on the weather. Both sections OK for beginners and two parts together 14km (8miles) shouldn't be beyond most reasonably fit people. We allow dogs on leads and they will encounter cattle so must be well behaved and kept under control. Parking available at the Burngate Centre or public buses from Swanage, Poole or Corfe Castle. The experience will be led by retired Professor of Geology and keen walker, Patrick Corbett. View Location
