The shimmering waters of Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake is one the unmissable attractions in Peru. It straddles the border between Peru and Bolivia. The “Puma Shaped Lake” is Spread in over 8372 Km, the lake is home to some traditional local communities who are untouched by modernity. On this half day tour from Puno, you will be visiting the most photographed and the prominent man made Floating Islands of Uros that is made entirely of tatora reeds. Totora reeds were first used centuries ago to build these islands on Lake Titicaca by the Uro-Aymara families who made their home on the lake. The local people’s boats are also made from totora reeds, and they use these vessels for fishing. Even some of the islanders’ handcrafts are made from totora reeds, and the friendly people of this community offer their work to visitors as a souvenir of their visit to this magical place.3 hours

Uros Floating Islands
Puno, PeruYour epic Uros Floating Island Tour begins with a transfer to the boat pier where you will embark on a 25 minutes boat ride to see the life on the floating islands of Uros. As you begin sailing away, you will get a pristine view of the snow capped Andean peaks at a distance.
As we will reach to the shores of Uros islands, locals will extend a warm welcome and will introduce you to their life on this man made island. People here speak Aymara, our tour guide will teach you a few words so you can greet them in their language.
The head of the community will demonstrate on how they build these islands and will share the history of it.
If desired, you can buy some souvenirs here.
The locals will then offer a short ride on their totora reed boat to the main island of Uros (this has an additional cost).

Tour operator will pick up all customers from their respective locations; or, customers can make their own way to the start point- Travelers can choose a custom pickup or meeting location.
- We offer complimentary hotel transfers to our guests who are staying in hotels or airbnb (within the centre of Puno). If you outside the centre of city, we can extend the service to you at an additional cost of 25 Soles each way.
