Covering an area of 58,000 hectares, the Pilanesberg sports a unique topography – rings of geologically fascinating alkaline hills that were produced by volcanic activity 1.2 billion years ago. In addition to healthy populations of lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and both black and white rhino, there are many endemic species that call the park home.
