May 14, 1940: A devastating watershed in the history of Rotterdam. Within fifteen minutes the city center was bombed to the ground by the Nazis. The Second World War and the much-needed post-war reconstruction period are strongly intertwined into the identity of Rotterdam. Your experienced tour guide will explain why the bombardment took place and show you buildings which survived the bombing.
